Case Study / Technical Communication + Industrial Marketing

SUPERIORAIR PRODUCTS.

Industrial products come with specifications, safety requirements and technical detail. My job was to turn that complexity into communication customers could understand, trust and use—across photography, sales literature, technical documents and video.

THE CREATIVE PROBLEMComplex doesn't have to look complicated.

The opportunity

Make technical information
work harder.

Superior Air Products needed more than attractive collateral. The work had to organize product specifications, explain industrial systems, support a sales conversation and preserve enough technical credibility for a knowledgeable audience. I handled the creative across the system—from photography and image editing through layout, information design, video direction, editing and motion graphics.

01 / ORGANIZE IT.

A full product line needed one clear story.

The full-line brochure had to introduce a broad industrial product offering without turning into a wall of specifications. I built the visual hierarchy, photographed and edited product imagery, and structured the document so a customer could move from the larger product story into the details that mattered.

The goal was not to remove technical information. It was to give that information a hierarchy—making the brochure useful as both a brand piece and a practical sales tool.

One piece had to do several jobs without looking like several documents stapled together.

Information design

Education could
also support sales.

The combustible-dust material required a different kind of communication. Dense safety and compliance information needed to remain credible while becoming easier to navigate and understand.

I translated the subject into an educational document that could help customers understand the problem, establish Superior as a knowledgeable resource, and create a natural bridge into the products designed to address it.

01

Respect the detail

Technical content still has to be accurate and credible to the people who know the subject.

02

Create hierarchy

Headlines, diagrams, imagery and pacing give readers a way into information that would otherwise feel dense.

03

Connect to action

Useful education can establish expertise while helping customers understand which solution fits the problem.

02 / SYSTEMIZE IT.

The details still had to feel like the same brand.

Individual product sheets carried the system down to specific equipment. These pieces needed room for dimensions, features and technical data while still looking related to the broader sales materials.

Instead of treating every sheet as an isolated layout, I used a repeatable visual language so the product library could grow without becoming visually fragmented.

03 / SHOW IT.

The product story
couldn't stop on paper.

The same understanding of the equipment carried into production. I photographed the work, edited and composited imagery, directed video on site, edited the finished footage and created the motion graphics.

I did not operate the camera on the video shoot. My role was direction: deciding what we needed to capture and how the finished piece should communicate the product, then carrying that footage through edit and motion.

THE RESULT

Technical work that
still communicates.

Superior Air Products is a different kind of creative problem than a mascot or consumer brand. The value is in understanding a complicated subject well enough to organize it without flattening it.

Across brochures, compliance material, specification sheets, photography and video, the work turns industrial detail into something customers can actually navigate—while giving sales a stronger set of tools to explain what Superior makes and why it matters.
